9/14/05-White Spectral Wizard - this has been the longest gap for the AD Journal ever...it has been a most
interesting summer in so many ways...it has been difficult to be focused on keeping the site up to date as we have been on the road constantly since early June...after Bonnaroo, Wakarusa, the Big Summer Classic, a few random shows here and there, Horning's Hideout, Moedown and some smaller midwest and east coast shows, the vending scene has been a little off for this year...there are still so many of your smiling faces to interact with and incredible amounts of good energy that we all share and that is what keeps us going...the Dead
couldn't get it together to do any 40th anniversary tour and we really don't expect them to ever play again with all the living members participating...it's a sorry state of affairs, but what can we do...so many things have happened to alter the direction of things to come...the Hurricane
Katrina being the natural disaster that will really have a great effect in so many ways for quite some time to come...having been to New Orleans on several
occassions, including several JazzFests it really hurts to see so many people lose pretty much everything and so many lives that went with it...this has been a hard week for me as I have lost two friends, not to the Hurricane but
to cancer and a brain aneurism...I never thought I would know so many people personally that would die at an early age, but it can't help make my think how precious life is and to live every day to the fullest...where are we headed?...gas prices are at an all time high and oil companies are making the highest profits for any corporations ever in the history of this country...what does that say?...and to add more "fuel" to the fire they just got all these kickback and subsidies in Bush's new energy policy...is there something wrong here, or am I crazy?... since learning earlier this year that CITGO gas stations profits all go to the Venezuelan government, not the Middle East or Bush's oil cronies, we have religiously when possible filled up just at CITGO stations as we drive around the country...when you read what Hugo Chavez is doing for his country and many poor Carribean nations with the proceeds it really makes me smile, and this is a democratically elected leader that our administration would love to see be removed from office...why is that
Mr.Bush?... thanks for the quick response on Hurricane Katrina and can you tell me why the Blackwater Security Agency is patrolling the streets of New Orleans with M-16's in tow?...how come the death merchants that the department of "Homeland Security" recalled them from killing in Iraq to parol the streets of New Orleans?...another question for you Mr. Bush is what do you have planned for us next when you nominate the next Supreme Court Justice?...stop trying to pass off wolves in sheep's clothing as our next protectors of our life and liberties...what are your motives Mr. Bush?...what are you going to do when the next natural disaster hits, how many more people are you going to let die while we have a hefty portion of our National Guard still on super extended duty in Iraq?...I just get so upset hearing and seeing what is going on and most of the nation is sleepwalking right through it...or could this be your cmplete control of the so-called liberal media?... Fox News as your beacon and your administration repeating the same thing over and over through all types of media unitl the general public starts believing you...why are your poll numbers so dismal?...why is everything divided along party lines?...remember you ran as a "uniter and not a divider", or have you forgotten?...have we ever heard so much talk about red states and blue states, partisanship, have votes in Congress ever been so divided along party lines?...we have three and a half more years of you, how much more of that time will be spent on your protected and secure Texas Ranch while we have so many people dieing abroad and in Iraq?...how come the $60 billion you just had appropriated for the disater relief is still going to Halliburton and all your other friends?...c'mon George, we need answers, not lies and deceipt...oh how we wish that your only fault was getting a blowjob from a White House intern...well enough of the rant...I encourage all of you who read this journal to support Independent Media...check the links on the site and find some stuff out on your own, research yourself, talk amongst yourselves, be the media, wise up and rise up...we can do something you just have to believe...'til next time...

4/29/05  Yellow Electric Warrior -  well finally the new site is up and running…it’s been a one and a half year project and it is still in it’s evolution…it’s nice to have something that is new, clean and fresh…it’s been so long since I have posted to this journal and the summer before us is shaping up to be a fun one…rumor has it that there will be a Bonnaroo close to Vegas around Halloween, we’ll see what happens….everything seems to be moving faster and faster these days and we are deep into the quickening… there is such a divide going on in this country, between the rich and poor and the gap is widening and dragging the middle class down…I really hope we can keep Bush in check before he does too much more damage to our freedoms, our environment, our rights, our future and our children…it just really amazes me how many Americans are sleeping as this President and his administration are setting our country further and further backwards…his energy speeches make me cringe…his judicial appointments make me wonder about his motives…his protection of corporations assures me he doesn’t care about “we the people”…his foreign policy of pre-emptive war makes me wonder how deep into his pocket is the defense industry?....his assault on our environment and the rules that protect it has me wondering what his long term vision is for our planet… wake up people!!... we can’t just sit back and let this all happen…it’s going to take all of us and more to make a stand that our government can hear loud and clear…the Republicans are trying to set themselves up for a long time to come…let’s take back their phony language and programs and produce some solutions to our problems instead of just whining about it…get involved, educate yourself, support alternative media, talk amongst yourselves, be the difference…lots of good music and festivals this summer will keep us busy at Be Good Family…we plan on phasing out all of our regular cotton offerings by 2006 and using either organic cotton or hemp for all of our clothing options…the new site’s emphasis will be on helping everyone that visits here find something they can get involved in, something they can learn, or expand on their creativity…watch for some more new and exciting updates to the site as we evolve in our new form…we will be on the road this summer helping promote permaculture and global justice, so check out our schedule and see when we will be coming to your area…it’s good to be back and have all of you back…
’til next time…

1/06/05-Blue Resonant Night - it has been such a long time since posting to the journal and SO MUCH has happened since then...first I must say kudos to the senators and congressmen today, who stood up and tried to protest the Ohio vote...we all should know it was definitely rigged and to know that there are a few senators and congressmen standing up for the people means there is hope...took a trip to SE Asia in the middle of November, with the first stop being the International Freshwater and Marine Fungi Symposium in Chiang Mai...I was really inspired by all of the amazing attendees and presenters at the symposium...a lot of the information and studies that were presented were extremely fascinating and I left the conference completely inspired ... my first taste of Thailand and what an amazing country...Chiang Mai was a good first place to start the trip as it seemed to live up to its name of the "Land of Smiles...yeah, that's right you can actually smile at anyone there and they will smile back, and its pretty contagious...wish that would happen here at home...also during the journey I got to visit many of the ancient Thai cities and the island of Phuket....wasn't the first choice to go to Phuket, but due to some variable weather conditions that is where we ended up...the tsunami of a few weeks ago gave me an awakening on how precious life is all around the world and how much more connected I became to the people of Thailand and this tsunami, then I would have, if I had never been there...many of the places we stayed in Phuket may not exist anymore and not knowing the fate of some of the locals we met leaves me wondering...also made it to Cambodia on the trip and to Angkor Wat....I can't really put into words on how I felt in Cambodia, but it was truly magical....so many amazing ancient temples and amazing carvings from the 5th century...some pictures are up on the home page and to the side here on this page...the loss of life from the tsunami, a natural disaster, not terrorists or rogue countries, really brings it home on how fragile life is here on earth and what can we do to bring all of us together in peace and harmony....Mother Earth is shaking it up and moving us in some directions that our species were having a hard time figuring out as a whole...but it will happen and more events like these will make us wake up and think and connect with all of our brothers and sisters around the world...it is time to move forward and I really think we will...I hope that all of us support each other and good causes for bettering and preserving the earth...get involved, do something, help make positive change on this planet and the effects of that our children will be eternally grateful...'til next time...

12/30/04-Yellow Cosmic Warrior - just wanted to let everyone know that I am OK and once I can get to a computer and edit my site properly I will have a good size entry here for my journal...much love to all who have tried to find out that I am still alive..'til next time

11/8/04-Yellow Cosmic Seed - wow, it has been a long time since I posted anything to this journal...so much has happened in my life, the world and especially in this country...Yasser Arafat is about to leave the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in a whole new light, when he passes on in the next day or so...we have a President with a mandate and some political capital...I'm sure hoping he spends it, aren't you?...every sign that I am reading says this election was rigged, by the brand new push for electronic voting and no paper trail...this is probably the most interesting time to be alive for me as everything is in a state of flux and with no apparent direction...the tree is definitely shaking its leaves and the ground, inbedded with its roots...what I really get from all of the events of the past few weeks is a growing pro-democracy movement...not a democracy as old George Dub would have it, but a democracy in the true sense of the word, without the heavy handed corporate dominance...a democracy of corporations is not what our forefathers envisioned for us and we must stand against it...We Are the Media....not CNN, ABC, FoxNews...we are the votes, the voice, the minds and the hands to make change...now we just have to figure out how best to organize and take back our country...that is what I will be working for in the next four years...Real Change....I invite anyone who reads this journal and really wants to make a difference to do just that...we can do so much in the next four years to help our causes, and preach peace not war...not all out attacks on Falluja to rout out the insurgents, but all out promoters of peace, love and caring for one another...be about community, not isolation...practice cooperation and not competition....how can George Bush preach moral values when he squeezes the middle class and pushes others even farther into poverty...is that compassionate to you?...we have the voice, let's just all get together and figure out how best to cooperate and make our voice heard round the world and bring some respect back to this country and let others know we are not a puppet of our government...'til next time...

9/04/04-Blue Cosmic Storm - it has been so long since I have posted anything in this "almost daily" journal...maybe I should rename it the "almost monthly"....been having the hardest time keeping my site up to date, since I can't edit it from home or my laptop.....so much is happening, I can't even digest it all.....the Phish show in Coventry was really a surreal moment in my life...kind of like it was from a movie...that is how I feel about the upcoming election...The RNC's speeches were full of really scary thoughts and outright lies...but what spooks me most was the tones of confidence that came from the podium....and not one word about OSAMA...huh?...why even Michael Moore's name was mentioned several times, but no OSAMA....makes me think that they want us to forget about him, make us think that the Bushies have forgotten about him, and then trance him out in captivity 14 days or less before the election...THEY WILL pull something out to try to tip the scales their way...but deep in my heart, I know that if everyone actually goes and votes, and the voting machines are not tampered with, Bush CAN'T WIN....I think they know that too, so they will try anything they can, going down swinging, because the Bushies can't be out of power....can't wait for the annual Bioneers Conference in October www.bioneers.org ,it is the most inspiring event I have ever attended...got to see Paul Stamets speak at the Telluride Mushroom Festival, and he can show you how fungi can save the world www.fungiperfecti.com ...after hearing him speak about four times or so, his knowledge impresses me and I think he is an amazingly important individual in the healing of this earth...there is so much more to say, but I am using my friend's rickety keyboard and it is hard to type, so 'til next time....

7/14/04-Blue Cosmic Hand - well, where do I even start....I have done so much since my last posting to the journal...having some severe problems updating my site and this is the first time it has been possible with my whirlwind schedule and major computer problems...went to Bonnaroo a month or so ago and by far was my least favorite of the three...definitely a more corporate influence this year and a huge contingent from Clear Channel trying to make their presence unknown...more security, more hassles, way too much mud, too many people and the most rotten port-a-pottie situation since Woodstock '99....this festival is headed in the wrong direction and gets a "thumbs down" from me....the music was great, but that really was the only part that I can even give a "thumbs up" to....next weekend drove cross country to Horning's Hideout for my somewhat annual appearance....it was again a truly amazing festival, ask anyone who was there....I can't count the times that I heard "this is the best festival I've ever been to"....Keller, STS9, Hamsa Lila and even Michael Franti and Spearhead, fresh from a trip to the Middle East...so inspiring to see so many beautiful people "blissed out" from the weekend, mostly from the experience, not the additives that might have entered their bodies....the third and fourth set from the Saturday show is a must hear, especially the interaction between Sound Tribe and Cheese...WOW!...getting ready to embark on the next summer journey to the East Coast for some Dead, the last Phish Shows and a few Cheese shows on the way....hopefully I will overcome my computer problems and be able to update the site more regularly...the new site is around the corner, with the final touches being put on it and hopefully up by mid-Sept...a few new designs will debut late summer and a bunch of new stickers will also debut...Fahrenheit 911, seen it twice and I must say that it in many ways it is preaching to the choir...however the standing ovation at the end by the crowd makes me wonder how Bush remains so high in the polls and it just seems like he might squeak it out....watch for a high profile capture at the end of the month by Pakistan to take the focus off of the Democratic convention...it's kind funny how the day after I see this movie, their comes big warnings about a terrorist attack at one or both of the conventions...I'm sure GW and his cronies will stage some kind of something to make sure they win the election...whether it being tampering with the electronic voting machines, to a terrorist attack, or something else to insure the election for them....we need to get out and vote, no excuses...the mobilization of the masses to get out and vote has not been greater in my lifetime...and it seems to be coming from left of center...with this much attention on this if GW wins, with all the controversy in his presidency, the massive protests, America will be headed in the way wrong direction...one last thing....once it is made public, the fact that Clear Channel has bought Superfly, next year at Bonnaroo we will be having mass peaceful protests and marches on the grounds of Bonnaroo, to protest one of the greediest corporations to infiltrate the concert music industry and radio airwaves ever...'til next time...

5/24/04-Yellow Magnetic Warrior - it's been a full month since I last posted to this journal, the longest hiatus ever....the last month probably was the most magical, enlightening, promising and community building experience I have ever had...the Permaculture Design course I took on the island of Kauai was absolutely amazing...I learned more things about so many different topics than I have ever learned in such a short period of time...learning about topics such as site assessment, sector analysis, patterns in nature, water harvesting, greywater systems, swale digging, pond building, solar and renewable energies, eco-literacy, bio-remediation, myco-remediation, soil building, vermiculture, composting, plant guilds, urban permaculture, agroforestry, grafting, aquaculture, democratic decision making,  sheet mulching, natural building, political strategy and so much more....the twenty-five or so of us that took the course were an absolutely beautiful and wide ranging bunch of people, mostly from Northern California or Hawaii, when at the end felt like we built a community that will reach out to all parts of the globe....there is so much more to say, but I am still processing my experience and learning how I can tie it in to Be Good Family...the Permaculture ethics: care for earth, care for people and reinvest the surplus are words and tools for me to live by...starting this fall there will be a Be Good Family Permaculture Scholarship enabling someone to take a course, fully sponsored by Be Good Family...this is just one of the amazing new developments that are forming from this course....spent the last day hiking the Nepali coast and it was not only breathtaking but so full of life and tropical plants and ecosystems, it is truly incredible...getting ready to head out to Bonnaroo in a few weeks and then to Horning's Hideout the next weekend...but first, I will be spending time in San Francisco  June 3-9 at a seven day event called Reclaim The Commons http://reclaimthecommons.net ....this will be an incredible action as well as workshops, teach-ins and a good community builder all in San Francisco, while the Genetically Engineered(GE) conference takes place the 6-9....it's time we stand our ground against GE foods and organisms, let the world know that we will not stand for this infiltration of altered organisms and Frankenfoods....a new couple of pages will make their debut on the site in the next week or so, revolving around Permaculture and courses offered all over the US and some overseas....two new stickers will be unveiled in the next few weeks and I am really excited to continue with this new direction...'til next time...

4/24/04-White Planetary World-Bridger - a week or so ago I was in Vegas experiencing the beautiful moments of so many of us gathering and descending on the town of sin....most were there to see Phish, some to see Moe and some for the raging conscious hip-hop late night parties....and some were there just because it was the THING to do...I think I was there for everything and it reflected in what a good time I had....beautiful weather until the last day and so many smiling and positive vibed people all sharing in a great weekend...this was the third straight time going to Vegas and not gambling at all, except on the late night food quality and it feels great...gambling is fun, but I really am not into giving any of my funds to help build new and improved gargantuan casinos...there are a lot better uses of my resources...in a week or so, I will be going to Kauai for an awesome permaculture course "Permaculture in Paradise" from May 3-17...it should be a totally amazing time and it is a definitely going to send my life into a new direction and open up many new doors to exciting possibilites which will come this training....there will also be anew Permaculture section coming to this site in the summer, so watch for it....the summer is getting chock full of new dates and it looks like many choices will be forced upon me as there are so many things happening all at the same time...I like choices, but there are just too many irie happenings all crammed in to a few months of the summer.... my new site is starting to come to fruition and I hope to have it up and running by early fall or so....ah, the spring brings such great beauty to our lands and is always the awakening for me for the year to come....'til next time...

4/8/04-White Resonant Dog - finally had some time to decompress from my Europe trip...after spending just a little time in four different countries, it appears to me that Europe is on a completely different page then this country...all four countries that I spent time in, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands seemed to be a much more coherent culture with semmingly a much better attitude among the population than here...I also found it amusing how no matter where I went in Europe, the attitude toward the French is not good...Switzerland was definitely my favorite country, one who had remained politically neutral for a long time and is not part of the EU and still uses their own currency...there is not a sign of poverty in Switzerland, adn the "minimum wage" earners, take home as much as the middle class does in this country...you don't feel the heavy "separation of classes" as we do in the US....the shopping and food in Europe is so vastly different and uniques...there is no preponderence of chain restaurants, retail outlets and huge discount chains....although in Germany I saw a billboard for a Super Walmart, but never did see the structure...each restaurant takes careful time to prepare your meal, make you feel at home, gives you incredible attention and all for NO expected tip...even though in Europe, I still felt the need to tip when I get way better service than I do in America....the history of all these countries goes way farther back than ours, and you can feel it and see it...not just in the structures, but the attitudes, the diversity, and the overall mystiques of countries that have been around for hundreds and hundreds of years...survived two World Wars on their lands and the mad exodus in the early 1900's....Hamburg, Germany was my favorite city I visited, the parts that I went to reminded me of San Francisco, but so far away from California...the Cheese shows were really well received there and I got to be tighter with the small band of us touring through Europe....I hope they do it again soon, but my next trip to Europe won't be part of any musical tour, but one of my own...going to other countries really puts things in perspective for me...three out olf the four countries I visited don't allow the public to own guns, and they are much safer because of it...I saw less police officers on my whole two week trip, then I typically see in one day in the US....I really think we have a long way to go here, to live up to the hype that we are not only the ONLY superpower, but that our ways, laws and culture are not even close to being superior to anywhere I visited on this trip...so many things are being announced for summer....what am I to do?....Phish has yet to announce their dated, but expect around nine shows earlier in the summer, maybe early July, and then a small run of about nine shows culminating in a big festival in Vermont to top it off....Cheese will be headlining the bonus day of Lollapalooza, and that should prove to be very interesting...the Dead have announced their summer tour and it looks like a pretty expansive one...all the festivals, including my traditional favorites(Bonnaroo, Horning's Hideout and All Good)...going to have to trek pretty fast across the country to make it from Bonnaroo to Horning's....All Good's move to early July, might make me miss it for the first time in five years...Iraq is a quagmire and if Bush gets reelected it will be either rigged or this country is made up of a bunch of numb, partisan idiots....'til next time

3/21/04-Yellow Lunar Human - made it to Europe OK after seeing a wonderful night at the Jammys...lots of interesting collaborations all night long...most interesting was the precursor to the rumor of SCI playing this year's Lollapalooza...Perry Farrell with the Cheese was an interesting combination....it is so beautiful here in Switzerland, especially in Interlaken....the mountains are so majestic and the it really makes me question what I am doing living in the States....every time I leave the country, I tend to think we don't have it as good in the US as advertised..."freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose", well I think we are definitely losing our freedoms, while others in the world are gaining them...going off to the Mediterannean today in Italy and then to Milan for a show tomorrow night...the place Cheese played was in the back music hall of a very old casino, more than 200 years old...the shows were some of the smallest for Cheese in a long time and we had so  much room to dance...the food here in Switzerland has been amazing to my taste...has two of the best salads I have ever had and everyone takes so much more pride here in preparing food...every meal that I have had here ranks as some of the best food and presentation ever...I'm sure this trend will continue throughout Europe...none of the abundance of mass market chain restaurants, all thinking about one thing PROFIT....the globalization of America within it's own country and outwards really is a concept that the world must resist from it spreading...it doesn't serve any positive purpose, and our society has created a need in order ot employ many people...what has happened to our "great" country?...it really disgusts me to see the vast difference everytime I leave...'til next time, with some more interesting world views and observations...

3/11/04-White Overtone Wind - decided to head to Europe to see Cheese, it should be a lot of fun seeing some new countries and travelling on tour in Europe....going to go to the Jammys on the way in NYC and from what I hear there should be some magical collaborations...first awards show for me...Howard Stern is jumping on the anti Clear Channel bandwagon...they kicked him off of all their stations, claiming indecency, but it was his Bush bashing that sent him packing...Clear Channel will really be pulling out all the stops for GWB this election....so it look like John Kerry vs George Bush...two Yalies, two members of Skull & Bones, two rich upper crusters laden with special interest money...wish we had another choice besides election spoiler Nader....although he may help bash Bush I can't vote for him this time....we must unseat the evil-doer Bush and his cronies, which means I will have to throw my very lukewarm support towards Kerry...a new festival in Kansas the weekend after Bonnaroo with a slew of "jambands", looks like an incredible lineup, probably see many of you there...hopefully I'll be able to find some internet cafes in Europe so I can post some pics and add to my journal....Measure H in my county passed and now we have banned genetically modified organisms for agriculture...hopefully other surrounding counties will follow suit next election...gonna be afun and really crazy summer...'til next time...

3/01/04-Yellow Galactic Human - well, tomorrow is my b-day and I think I am going to see Ratdog in SF at the Fillmore...I've been blessed with many good b-day shows the last few years...saw STS9 in Norfolk last year, SCI at the Wiltern in 2001, before that I never had any good b-day shows....last year I was on the complete opposite coast  seing Phish in Greensboro after a grueling lightning fast cross-country tour...this year I will find myself doing more travelling by plane than ever before...that kinda scares me though, this new system is in place in almost all the airports that ranks you as a passenger risk...it goes through your credit history and much more intrusive data about each passenger and then gives them a ranking....some of the far-fetched at the time science fiction movies from the late 70' and early 80's are seeming to come more and more true about "big brother"...we really need to get Bush our, but replacing him with Kerry doesn't make me smile, or get me happy, just relieved...that now only minor damage will be done to our civil rights, but as far as Kerry changing governmental ways, or fixing the economy, or getting us out of Iraq, or eradicating corporate influence in Washington, forget about it....now Howard Stern is banned from Clear Channel, maybe I should get him one of my Clearly Channelling shirts...hmmm....culture wars in America at their finest....watch out people, there is going to be some really interesting stuff happening in this country in the next few months...just wait and see...it will be like nothing since the 60's, leading up to the craziest election in the history of the US....Super Tuesday is also my b-day and I will be voting for Dennis Kucinich and to keep my Mendocino County GMO free...take that Monsanto, Syngenta, Dow and Dupont....your'e NOT welcome here...'til next time.....

2/17/04-Yellow Solar Sun - it's been raining here for days...passed by many flooded roadways and rock slides on my way home yesterday...think I'll be staying close to home until the rain subsides......the first ever Be Good Family sale started yesterday and the first ad ever on Jambands.com, it should be interesting to see how many more people find their way to the site....still developing the brand new site, which will have a completely different look to it...working on getting some embroideries ready to have for sale really soon, especially hats....as much as I want to beat Bush in November, I really can't be all that excited about John Kerry as the nominee...he is one of those upper-crust politicians that don't have a grasp on what it's like to be an average citizen..check this link out http://69.28.73.17/thornarticles/bloodbrothers.html.....he's voted for the Patriot Act, for the war in Iraq, for NAFTA, for "No Child Left Behind", how can I support this guy...a matter of fact who can support this guy for President...he may be better than Bush, but that really doesn't say much...we don't need another aloof politician running this country, completely the puppet of special interests...I'm predicting that John Edwards will keep Kerry from running away with the nomination, only because you can't just run on beating Bush and flip-flopping on issues....Bush is definitely going to axe Cheney as his VP and replace him with someone like Rudy Giuliani....for some reason these Presidential election years get me really interested in the political process, but then after examining it so well, it really makes me sick...that is why Dennis Kucinich is so refreshing to me...he's not like any other Presidential candidate I have ever seen...it really sucks that mainstream media has completely ignored his campaign and deemed it a "vanity" candidacy, months before the first primary...it's because he has some progressive stances on issues...he's for decriminalization of cannabis, for same-sex marriage, against NAFTA, WTO, FTAA, pro-environment, for universal health care, getting our troops out of Iraq and handing over the oil interests to the UN....maybe it's not quite that easy, but at least he is taking stances on issues and not just repeating the Democratic Party mantra, "anybody but bush"...we can't win back the White House and the Senate and the House on that platform...Bonnaroo 2004 will be absolutely amazing, I can't wait....time is cruising by so fast, like I've never seen, but then again "what is time"....'til next "time"

2/14/04-Red Rhythmic Earth - it's the wee hours, just past midnight, Valentine's Day is just beginning....going to see the reggae band Midnite tonight, they are the most amazing reggae band that is still touring...it should be an irie time....the first ever Be Good Family sale begins on Sunday(White Resonant Mirror)....the lineup for Bonnaroo was announced today and it is definitely the best one yet....they are expecting between 90,000-100,000 people at this one....I can only imagine what it will be like....so many incredible musicians all descending in one place, way better than any festival I have ever seen...a really incredible way to kick off the summer, and the ticket prices are reasonable for all the artsts they have signed to play...trying to decide whether to go to Europe and see Cheese this spring....I would get to see six shows in four countries, what fun!!!....don't know when they will do this again...they married a whole bunch of same-sexers in SF the last few days....the upcoming months will be very consumed by news of gay and lesbian marriages and court challenges...this will be a very defining year for this country....I would not be surprised to see John Kerry implode and "lose" the Democratic nomination...the big question is who will get the nomination and what kind of crazy convention will it be...this year is really exciting to me and I look forward to looking back at this journal throughout the year to just to see my observations at certain points in time and see what really ends up happening this year...'til next time...

2/05/04-Yellow Planetary Star - it's looking like there will be a whole lot to do again this spring...Phish just announced their only spring shows in Vegas in the middle of April...it will be absolute madness....Pigpen's galactic birthday today, and wishing that the old spirit of the Grateful Dead was still around, but I can't feel it any more...I love going to shows, seeing old friends and family, but the magic is definitely not there any more...we need something that brings us all together, across many cultures, religions, ideologies and spirituality....it's time for us to think only about peace not war...about helping our neighbors not threatening them...it's time to get the people of this country represented, not the special interests...it's time to elect leaders who stand up for what THEY believe in, not their campaign donors and lobbyists....but it is us that has to make that change, we elect these leaders, we choose this system...we need a third party, it is crucial to our evolution...without it, we are just bounced around like a ping pong ball, depending on who's in office and who dominates congress...this country should not be about corporations and greed, it should be about humanity, love, compassion and caring...where's the Compassionate Conservative Bush?....I guess you meant compassionate to your rich friends, your Skull & Bones buddies, your daddies friends, your long time family friends from other countries and all the others who have bought you off along the way...freedom of speech is slowly eroding in this country....you can't be against the war, you would then be un-patriotic or un-American....look at the corporations getting rich off of this war...rebuilding what we tore down...we spend the money to tear it down and we spend the money to rebuild it....sounds like a good scheme...well then our President has a lot of friends who have tried or are currently trying all kinds of schemes... I'm done ranting...when I sat down to put an entry into my journal tonight, I had no idea what I was to write about...I guess what is going on in this country is really getting me angry...if you want to keep things as they are with only a change at the head then look at the two Democratic front runners, Edwards and Kerry...they both  the voted for the war, for the Patriot Act, and take a lot of money from special interests...the media wants one of them to win the nomination...they also want an interesting campaign so they can sell more advertising...the media will make it a horse race between Edwards and Kerry, because they want to...most voters don't make up their mind on who to vote for until the last three days before a primary... most are swayed by TV commercials...how many voters really know how the candidate they are voting for stands on the issues....the media can make the public believe whatever they want and can sway public opinion with just one story...who's running this country, it's not you or me...! well, on my birthday Super Tuesday, I'm voting for Kucinich...he may be at the bottom of the polls, but he's the only one that stands up for what he believes in, and that is someone I can look up to....'til next time....
